We hail the young hurlers from Feenagh

Who came out on top in the West;

We saw them beat Knockaderry

In the Final they gave of their best.

Moss Lynch was a powerful defender

John Reidy’s exciting to watch,

Nick Roche he was totally outstanding,

Our captain and man of the match.

John Herily shone out in the half backs,

Bill Lynch bursted through the melee;

Kevin Long played for years with the County

He snatched home a goal from free.

We are proud of the hardy John Neenan

Mike Sullivan is on the way up

The saving of netminder Finnegan

Helped feenagh to bring home the Cup.

An aeroplane landed in Feenagh

A training instructor inside

Jim Noonan, a coach from the army,

Whose talents are known far and wide.

Dan Sullivan played well in the centre,

And Maurice worked hard through the hour,

God bless Willie Walsh in the forwards

And brilliant young prospect Jim Power.

John McCarthy tore through Knockaderry,

Young Paddy was sound on the wing,

Nick Roche scored a goal from a “seventy”

The hurlers of Feenagh will sing.

Should you wish to see the champions training

You are welcome to Feenagh serene.

With Kiely to steer us to glory,

We will conquer Kilteely Dromkeen.
