MUNSTER CHAMPIONS 2018

The Feenagh –Kilmeedy Senior Scor Leiriu group brought a Munster title to the parish with a fine group performance in achieving provisional honours at the Community centre Cappamore on Saturday night. The cast who achieved were Nuala Kelly, Bernadette Kelly, Christy Kelly, David Kelly, Stephen Madigan, T.J  Madigan, Katie O Dwyer, Timothy Lynch. Their final opposition were Borrisoleigh (Tipperary), St James’ (Cork), Asdee (Kerry). In the Resitation Christy Kelly gave a fine performance but didn’t achieve Munster honours. At the conclusion Jerry O Sullivan Munster GAA Chairman presented the Leiriu cup to Christy Kelly. The medals were presented by Munster Scor Chairman to team members by Tom Herlihy. Best of Luck in the all Ireland in Sligo IT on Saturday April 14 at 3pm.

LIMERICK AND DISTRICT WOODTURNERS WORKSHOP

Limerick and district Woodturners are holding a once off workshop on the challenges of making Uilleann Pipes.

Demonstrator – Mickey Dunne

Venue – Cresent College  Comprehensive, Dooradoyle, Limerick.

When – Tuesday 27 March at 7.30 – 9.30pm.

Mickey Dunne is a well known leading exponent and maker of Uilleann pipes. He is noted as a master of the instrument. He will discuss the purpose and function of the various components. The intricate crafting of the “Reeds” will get special attention. Ebony and brass are the principal materials.
