John Hunt 1949-51 excavations unveiled

Gillian McCormack and the Department of Archaeology UCC have organised a Heritage Week event to mark Gillian’s recent publication of John Hunt’s (of the Hunt Museum) excavations from 1949-51 at Ballingarry ringfort. There will be an illustrated talk, a book launch and a guided tour of the ringfort. It will take place on the 18th of August at 7:30pm at Glenbrohane Community Hall, Garryspillane, Kilmallock, V35Y328. Limerick Hurling Song 2018

 New Principal appointed at Kilmeedy National School: meet the new team on 21 August.

The Board of Management of Kilmeedy National School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Avril Daly as Principal. Mrs Daly, a native of Feohanagh, was previously on the teaching staff of Monagea NS for 18 years, holding the role of Deputy Principal for the last four years.

The new team in Kilmeedy NS (Mrs Daly, Mrs Jacqueline Quirke and Mrs Sheila Scannell (Special Education Teacher) are looking forward to providing an inclusive and broad-based education where all children are welcome. The curriculum will include sports, music, drama and a range of extracurricular activities availing of the extensive sports field and computer room facilities at the school.

As a small country school, it is across the road from the Butterfly Pre-School and Before and After School Clubs. A school bus service is also available.
