FEENAGH KILMEEDY PARISH NOTES FOR WEEK OF APRIL 23 2019

ROSARY

Rosary at Kilmeedy Church on Friday April 26 at 7 pm.

MASSES

Saturday April 27 at Kilmeedy church at 7.30 pm – First anniversary mass for An Ath Peadár De Burcá RIP.

Reader – TJ Madigan, Eucharistic minister – Mary Beaulieu, Altar servers – Josh Gilbourne, Jamie O Doherty.

Sunday April 28 at Feenagh church at 10 am – Michael Lynch RIP.

Reader – Rosario Irwin, Eucharistic minister – Eileen O Brien, Altar servers – Corie lynch, Conor Donegan.

CEMETERY MASS

Kilmeedy Cemetery mass on Tuesday May 7 at 7.30 pm.

RAMBLING HOUSE

The fina Rambling house of the season was held at Aras Ide Kilmeedy on Friday April 19. The MC Seán O Gorman welcomed all participants and audience and he thanked all for their participation and support. The following entertainers on the night were Eamonn Cronin, Dan Madigan, Mary Gleeson, Stephen Moloney, Stephen Roche,Pat Moloney, Jim and Kathleen Casey, Daithí and John O Riordan, Tom O Brien, David Hunt, Tim Browne, Seán Hartnett, Josie Ahern, Seán O Gorman. Before and at the Interval Teas and foods were served. Thanks to the organisers for their generousity. The Chairman of the Community Development group Seamús Murphy thanked all for their help and support over the season. It will commence again in October.

WE’RE GOING VINTAGE – Dromin /Athlacca

Star Kids Creche and the Community Hall will hold a fundraising Vintage Run on Sunday May 26th – Registration from 11.00am costing €20.00 – All Types of Vehicles most welcome. There is no restrictions on what age the mode of transport is as long as they are not this years or last years in the car section. The run is going to do a lap of Dromin and another one of Athlacca.  Family activities and refreshments to take place in the Community Hall after the run is launched at 12.00.

KILMEEDY DEVELOPMENT GROUP

Kilmeedy Development Group would like to thank everyone who supported us on Vintage day despite the inclement weather you still managed to turn out in large numbers, To those who gave cakes, raffle prizes and items for Bric a Brac, our sincere thanks.

TLC CLEAN UP

Thanks to all those who helped with The Team Limerick Clean Up on Friday last, The village was looking wonderful for the Easter Holidays.

LONDON MARATHON

Our Development group would like to wish Barry  and Catriona the Best of Luck in their upcoming adventure, they are taking on a big challenge in competing in The London Marathon this coming weekend.

RAMBLING HOUSE

Rambling house at Aras Ide Kilmeedy on Friday April 19 at 8.30 pm.

ACTIVE AGE

Active age meeting at Aras Ide Kilmeedy on Tuesday April 23 at 7 pm.

HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES

Holy Thursday mass Last supper – April 18 at Feenagh church at 7.30 pm with adoration of the Blessed sacrament at 9.30 pm.

Eucharistic minister will renew their commitments at the mass.

Altar servers rehearsals at 11 am on Friday.

Good Friday April 19 – Celebration of the Lord Passion at Kilmeedy church at 3 pm.

A collection will be taken up for the upkeep of the Holy places, Holy land (Envelopes for collection in weekly box)

Stations of the cross in Feenagh church at 7.30 pm.

Saturday April 20 at Feenagh church at 9 pm – People of the Parish.

Eucharistic minister – Sharon Danaher.

Sunday April 21 at Kilmeedy church at 10 am – People of the parish

Reader – Nuala Kelly, Eucharistic minister – Stefan Beaulieu, Altar server – Michael Heenan

(Easter dues will be taken up at Saturday and Sunday masses)

FIRST ANNIVERSARY MASS

Saturday April 27 First Anniversary mass for An Ath Peadar De Búrca at Kilmeedy church at 7.30 pm

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to Fr Patrick Bluett P.P and the entire Bluett family on the death f his brother Tom Bluett RIP, Effin. An outstanding and talented hurler with his club division,County and Province.

Sympathy is extended to Michael Barry his wife Maureen and family, Avaheen, Feenagh on the death of his sister Mrs Maureen Murphy RIP ,Nee Barry,Shannon.

WALKING GROUP

Walking group meet at Castletownconyers village on Monday April 22 for an easy road walk.

G.A.A

West junior hurling(A) League final at Knockaderry on Saturday evening. The final score was Feenagh Kilmeedy 1-7, Croagh Kilfinny 1-4. Half time 1-2 each.

Feenagh Kilmeedy Team – Michael Bergin, Neilus Irwin, Michael O Connor, Kevin Murphy, Seán Murray, Maurice Fitzgibbon,James O Regan, Gerard O Gorman, Seán Kelly, Darragh Kiely, John O Gorman, Liam O Gorman, Jimmy O Sullivan, Luke Ryan.

Subs – John Lynch, John Coleman, Referee – Martin O Doherty.

The west assistant secretary of the board and League sponsor Jim Lynch presented the Michael Kenneally Memorial cup to Feenagh Kilmeedy Captain Gerard O Gorman.

HAPPY CAMPERS (Kilmeedy Healthcare Support) are holding a fun day on April 25 from 10 am – 1 pm at Aras Ide, Kilmeedy. €5 per child, group discount available. Special guest Limerick hurler Aaron Gillane. For more info contact Bláithín (0874412800) or Shania (0879363103) Monster Raffle on the day with some fantastic prizes. €2 for 1 strip,€5 for 3 strips. All proceeds from the Raffle will go to the Children’s Ark UHL Limerick.
