We had a very busy and most enjoyable weekend in Kilmeedy and Feenagh on the May weekend. Friday night was launch night as we launched our website Feenagh-Kilmeedy.com. and later that evening Joe Healy read from his first book called ‘Soft as Rainbow’.
The website came into being after a meeting between Seamus Murphy and Dan Harrold of Kilmeedy Development Group and Sean O’Sullivan of the Gathering 2013. The designer is Jonathon Fealy and what a fabulous job he has done on it. Jonathon gave a slide demonstration Friday night after the site was offically launched by Jerome Scanlan, Cathaoirleach, Limerick County Council.
Jerome then also officially launched the first book by Joe Healy called ‘Soft as Rainbow’. It is a fundraiser for a charity called S.O.F.T. Ireland which is run by parents of special children. Michael Fagan from Castleconnell. founder member of S.O.F.T. Ireland gave a lovely speech describing the charity and the work they do. Also speaking was Dominic Taylor of Limerick Writers Centre and Revival Press who published Joe’s book. Joe then read from his book and the readings were accompanied by the lovely singing of Josie Meehan and guitarist Ger Fennell. Joe would like to thank most sincerely all those who purchased a copy Everyone was full of praise for Kilmeedy Development and their warm hospitality.
M.C. on the night was poet Eileen Sheehan from Kerry.
