Tea On The Bog
Bring a picnic and enjoy an afternoon at Griston Bog with fun for everyone as part of the May bank holiday Ballyhoura Walking festival. We will be leading a 20 minute guided nature walk (leaving every half hour from 3pm until 5pm). See if you can spot the Heath Bumblebee, an increasingly rare bumblebee that likes bogs! Enjoy pond-dipping and bird-watching – nets and binoculars provided by Ballyhoura Outdoor Classroom. Get close to the birds and animals brought along by Animal Magic and of course … enjoy … tea on the bog! Ordinary shoes / trainers are adequate as the trail is a boardwalk throughout. Walk is level and wheelchair accessible. Come prepared for the weather although there is shelter on the bog if it should rain during your picnic!
