Congratulations to Mrs Kathleen (Kit)Geary, Garbally Kilmeedy who celebrated her 80th birthday on Sunday December 3rd . To celebrate the occasion Katherine’s family and friends attended a party at the Glen bar on Saturday.
Rosary at Feenagh church on Friday December 8th at 7pm.

50 YEARS AGO
Kilmallock County Senior hurling Championships in 1967 defeated Kilmeedy in the county quarter final at the Gaelic grounds in Limerick in September 1967, amongst the players to my memory who played with Feenagh-Kilmeedy that day was John J Murphy who was goalkeeper at 49 years of age and made some fine saves. Others to figure were Michael Long, Kevin Long, Jim Kelly, Pat and Den Murrihy, Sean O Gorman,Bill Lynch, Ned Murphy, John Neenan, John Reidy, John Power, Tom Holmes, Tony Boyce. The final score – Kilmallock 3-5, Feenagh-Kilmeedy 2-1. The Referee was Jack Quaid – Feohanagh.
In the first round Feenagh-Kilmeedy beat Eire og (young Ireland) at Croom by 4-8 to 4-1,the referee was Mick Sexton Bruree.
That year the minor hurlers reached West 1967 Championship semi-final losing to eventual Champions Tournafulla by 4-6 to 4-3 at Dromcollogher, the referee was Jack Quaid. In the Juvenile hurling semi – final of the Championship in 1967 at Ballingarry ,Dromcollogher 5-1 to Feenagh-Kilmeedy 3-0. The referee was Tony Hartnett Ballingarry. Dromcollogher went on to win West against St Mary’s Rathkeale. Garry Noonan scored the winning goal. Rathkeale were leading by two points.
Feenagh Kilmeedy G.A.A club annual general meeting at the club house on Friday night. The Officers elected for 2018 were- President – Rory Kiely, Chairman – Edward Murphy, Vice Chairman – Vince Kiely, Secretary – Tony Long, Assistant secretary – Barry Gilbourne, Treasurer – Marian O Sullivan, Registrar – John Holmes, Irish officer – David Kelly, PRO – Jim Long, Children’s officer – Peter Irwin, Assistant Treasurer – Tony O Connor.
West Board Delegates – John Holmes and Vincent Kiely, County Board delegate – Vincent Kiely.
Commitee – Charlie Boyle, William Kelleher, DJ O Sullivan, Phillip O Connor, Diarmuid O Connor, Eamonn O Connor, Neilus Irwin, David O Sullivan, Patrick Holmes.

Choir practice at Feenagh church on Saturday December 9th at 6pm.

KILMEEDY CHRISTMAS RAMBLING HOUSE
Kilmeedy Christmas Rambling house takes place on Friday 15th December at 8 pm with the usual good talent and top class music, song and storytelling. The M.C will be wearing his red hat and will be welcoming santa and his wife who will have something for everyone in the audience. I hope to have a sing along with the audience and a few Christmas hymns. I hope this night will be the beginning of a holy and happy Christmas for everyone. So join us on Friday 15th at Aras Ide in Kilmeedy.
