Youths Division 2: Feenagh 4 Pallaskenry 0
The Youths picked up their first win of the season on Saturday last with all the goals arriving in the second half. There was little to choose between the sides in the opening half with chances at either end being spurned. A cross from William Enright found the head of the onrushing Luke Ryan but his header was straight at the keeper. Further chances for Enright and Darren Geary came and went as the sides retired for the half time break scoreless.
Kevin Moore went close after the interval and it was Moore who eventually broke the deadlock with a fine finish, with Ronan O’Keefe and Dylan Hayes-Daly involved in the build up play. Moore also was involved in strike number 2, as he headed on James McDermott’s kick out and the ever alert Luke Ryan stole in behind the defence to nod the ball over the onrushing keeper and tap the ball into the unguarded net. Goals 3 and 4 were also impressive finishes. For the third goal, Mark O’Connor picked out Maurice Fitzgibbon with a good pass. Fitzgibbon controlled the ball into the path of the onrushing Ryan O’Gorman who finished impressively to the bottom right hand corner of the net. The final goal came via a fine left footed effort from Evan O’Flynn. At the other end goalline clearances from Calvin Moran and Seán Shine denied the visitors a consolation and ensured that a clean sheet was maintained.
