The U-10’s kicked off their season in fine style with a 4-1 away win in Adare last midweek. On Saturday last, Kildimo United A were the visitors to O’Brien Park on a glorious afternoon for football. The home side found themselves under some early pressure but a resolute back line of Bobby Enright, Conor Healy and Aoife Kelly stood firm, while keeper David Ryan pulled off some impressive saves. However, Kildimo took the lead midway through the half. This sparked the home side to life with Diarmuid Ryan to the fore in taking the game to Kildimo. Cian O’Connor, Patrick O’Doherty and Ruairi O’Connor all came close to scoring before half time. The next goal also went to Kildimo, before a speculative effort from Diarmuid Ryan found the net. Urged on by the vocal home support, Feenagh enjoyed their best spell in the game and Cian O’Connor again came close to scoring. However it was Kildimo who poached another goal to leave the final score, Feenagh 1, Kildimo United A 3. A valiant effort by the U-10’s with plenty to be optimistic about for the rest of the season.
