After a setback at home to local rivals Granagh the previous week, Feenagh’s juniors returned to the top of Division 2 with a 6-1 victory over Athea United B at The Vales, Athea yesterday. The fine surface suited the visitors with their pace and finishing proving too much for the home side. The O’Gorman brothers John and Ger were both on the mark before Athea pulled one back. A Timmy Lynch header from a Ronan Gilbourne free kick made it 3-1 and further assured finishing from Conor Dillon and Diarmaid Coleman made the half time score 5-1 to Feenagh. John O’Gorman added his second on the resumption and numerous other chances were also created, the closest of which was a John Coleman header off the crossbar. There is no game next weekend and all in the club wish the Feenagh hurlers well in their quest for Munster Junior Hurling honours in Mallow next Sunday.
