The Kilmeedy Rambling House is back and will be held every 3rd Friday night of the month from November until next April, so please keep that night free in your diary for a great night entertainment of songs, storytelling and music under the capable control of our fear anti Sean O’ Gorman and the first one of the season was held last Friday night the 18th of October.
Sean started by passing a vote of sympathy to Miss Pauline Downey of the death of her sister Tess and the Lynch family, Garbally, Kilmeedy on the death of Nora, a great supporter of The Kilmeedy Rambling House. He also offered his condolences to the family of the late John Hughes a performer at the Rambling House of the past.
The evening got underway with a song and music from Ned Mc Gee, John Kett sang accompanied by Ned McGee followed by Feohanagh man Tom Gilbourne who sang a medley of songs, Stephen Moloney gave us a song and a recitation. Mary Gleeson sang a beautiful song, Tom Meehan from Knockaderry enthralled the crowd with his singing. Our own Christy Kelly gave a fine recitation. Cork man John Bourke told a story as did fellow Cork man Niall O’ Sullivan. Dan Madigan and Tom Donoghue gave some lovely renditions of traditional music, Pat Sheahan entertained all with his songs. Our local brothers Stephen and Donal Madigan entertained all and rocked the house with their renditions of the Nathan carter hit song “Wagon Wheel”. A big thanks to all entertainers, and a huge thanks to our kitchen staff for the food especially Sinead and Ann for their help.
Craft Fair on Saturday the 23rd of November from 5pm to 9pm at Aras Ide, Kilmeedy, put the date in your diary more details to follow at a later stage.
